Auction night and what’s next

Auction night 2010 is history now – quite a few members were buying and bidding on magic tricks, books and DVDs.
Next meeting is in 2 weeks time and it’s a famous Member 2 Member night. Three members – three different magic fields – three different lectures in one night!
Who’s lecturing? Thats a surprise, come along and see…

We’ve seen very interesting lecture by Oliver Meech today. Oliver has shown us that even well known trick can be performed in fresh and entertaining way.
Frank Paulson Card Competition results

Oven Lean and his act opened today Frank Paulson Card Competition, followed by Ray Frost, Tom Head, Forrest Wang, Michael Wysockyj, Jack Romero and Paul Brown. All seven competitors were very entertaining but winer can be only one. Not sure if I can call it a surprise but winner this year is…. Jack Romero!

Lectures line-up

We have more information about two up and coming lecture evenings.
For the 28th May we have Oliver Meech, an exciting card magician with a number of highly praised books to his credit.
And for later on this year we have an evening with Marc Paul, mind reader and psychological magician extraordinary, date TBA stay tuned.

Davenports Dealers Dem postponed to the next meeting

This week there is no formal meeting as the Davenports Dealers Dem is postponed to the next meeting and the open competition replaced by the dem.
For this Friday, please bring along something and be prepared to entertain. It is an open evening and anyone can join in.
Please check the calendar if you are confused.
Jack Romero has just won the Bridger Lewis Competition 2010!

Congratulations to Jack Romero who has beaten all the other competitors! Nicely done!
All others were equally good, namely Michael Wysockyj, Forrest Wang last but not least duo Owen Lean and Paul Brown (M is for Magic).

Bridger Lewis Competition is coming this Friday!

Draw and running order will be settled before the evening. Acts between 8 and 10 minutes and must consist only of tricks suitable for performance on a stage. (No close up tricks with one member of the audience as a witness)
In case you want to enter, you need to be a member and let Peter Baker or Peter Blun have your names up to Thursday the 25th March.
